is proud to announce the arrival of a putter not only rivalling the
quality and design thoughtfulness of previous GCR irons and metals, but
rivalling the quality and attention to detail of any putter in the world that
has ever been produced. Technically refined by design and manufacturing process,
proven on the greens, and beautiful in the hands, our “Engineered by GCR”
putter offers a new benchmark in putters.
Each putter begins life as a solid block of S25C
forged carbon steel, heat treated to the engineering standard of HRB80 which
realigns the grain in the carbon steel prior to milling. The block is then 100%
milled using state of the art robotic machines driven by software that is
programmed in every minute detail so that every single putter head has
tolerances of 1/1000”, the highest level possible. The “secret” is in the
programming of the software, and over twelve months of software revision went
into just this one design to ensure the perfect putting instrument. Attention to
detail is a GCR hallmark, and as with everything in life, it is the little
things that make a difference, don’t you agree?
Within the milling process, the loft is set to 4o, the optimum for
getting the ball started and rolling as soon as possible, and the lie to 72o in
order that the eyes will be directly over the ball for proper alignment.
The centre of percussion has been optimally located, redistributing 56
grams from behind the face and the centre of the head, to the lower heel, toe
and perimeter to create higher moment of inertia for greater stability
throughout the putting stroke. The heavier head weight enhances control and
provides better fit and feel at shorter putter lengths.
For more efficient energy transfer, a grooved milling has been applied to the
face to provide resilient response and crisp feedback with a soft, reassuring
sound and feel. The result also offers improved distance control without
sacrificing soft feel. The final process is the application of Japanese satin
black nickel plating to provide durability against corrosion that is inherent in
carbon steel and to ensure that there are no reflections so that you can totally
concentrate on the job at hand.
Additional enhancements include
a premium True Temper “putter specific” steel shaft for increased feel
through the hands and enhancing that feel is an Australian made full grain
leather wrap grip for precise feedback and the ultimate feel that only leather
provides. Each putter is then protected in a fur lined putter cover to eliminate
any dents or nicks caused by clubs moving around in the bag.
